All of our timeless, natural live edge furniture pieces are built from salvaged hardwood that is sourced, milled and kiln dried on site. We specialize in live edge dining tables, boardroom tables, bartops, counters, coffee tables and consoles. All of our designs are custom made to fit your home, style and preference. Live Edge Tables FAQ

  • Where do you source the Live Edge Wood Slabs for the furniture you build?
    All the Live Edge Wood is milled and kiln dried in-house.  This allows us to make sure we are only drying the most high-quality live edge wood. We also control the drying process which allows for less drying defects and very stable lumber at 6-8% moisture content.  When buying live edge wood or any lumber for furniture projects always remember that the most critical component in creating a successful outcome is to start with properly dried wood.  If the wood is not properly dried your project will encounter numerous problems such as warping, cracking and twisting of the wood.  The fact that we mill and dry every single slab we sell or use in our furniture builds allows us to create beautiful live edge dining tables, coffee tables and bar tops that will last for years to come.
  • Would I get to pick out the Live Edge Wood for my Table?
    Yes, you can stop in in-person and pick out a slab(s) or if you’re not local to our location we can consult over email, phone or video call. We offer local delivery and shipping across Canada.  We will also provide guidance on selecting your live edge wood slab(s) during the consultation.  Please contact us if you're interested in a custom furniture build or have any questions about the process.
  • Are Live Edge Tables hard to maintain?
    No, our live edge tables are finished with high quality spill-resistant finishes that are durable and long lasting. We fill all voids and cracks with premium epoxy which results in a very smooth finish. All you need is a dry cloth to dust the top. If a sticky spill occurs you can use any wood safe cleaner.  For spot repairs you can gently sand the damage out and reply Rubio Monocoat to the area to blend in the finish.  Rubio is a great finish as it allows spot repairs.
  • Why is Live Edge Furniture sold at a higher price point than other furniture?
    Live Edge Furniture is a niche market where every piece is custom built.  Most furniture pieces you find at big box stores are factory built in the thousands which reduces cost.  Next time you see a cheap “live edge table” at a big box furniture store pay attention to the wood species and the fact that the top is actually built from glued up dimensional boards with the live edge glued on.  Like everything in life, you get what you pay for.
