Black Walnut – S1002

A very clean live edge black walnut slab with marble cake walnut grain and a very large sapwood. This slab features movement in the live edge as well as a large knot surrounded by figured grain.  This slab would work well for a coffee table, bar top or a headboard.

About the wood: Black Walnut is a very desirable wood, especially in its live edge form, among woodworkers.  Its sought for its unique dark grain, contrasting sapwood, rarity and high demand among end customers. Black walnut is often recognized as the most expensive domestic wood here in Ontario.

Please note this picture was taken before the slab was dried.  All of our slabs are kiln dried to 6-8% moisture content and are ready to be worked.
