Perfectly sized for coffee tables, these walnut rounds can serve both function and style.  There are several to chose from.  Whether you plan to use the round with its live edge intact of cut out a more modern end grain piece we have both options available.  These slabs go great with minimalistic pinhair legs creating instant lovely coffee tables.

About the wood: Black Walnut is easy to work with and takes finish well, commonly not stained and finished for its natural color.  Black Walnut is very desirable and one of the most expensive domestic hardwoods.  It’s characterized by a whiter sapwood and rich dark brown and red heartwood.  Black walnut is very sought after in its live edge form as it displays very unique grain patters with its sapwood intact.  These black walnut rounds are not a traditional cut of lumber as they are cut against the grain.  This sort of cut produces unique round shapes with live edge intact all around their circumference.  One tip to note is that since the surface is fully ‘end grain’, it is important to remember that any finish or epoxy will soak deep into the wood.  I highly suggest sealing the grain with a surface finish like polyurethane before doing epoxy work to prevent staining.
